Emotions and World-Building

I, along with my fellow members of the Cafe, will be participating in NaNoWriMo again this year. However, this time I’ve taken on a new challenge.

I’m a co-ML this year!

For the non-initiated to NaNo ways, an ML is a Municipal Liasion. Basically, Sara and I are the ones who push, pull, and kick people throughout the month to get them to write and drag their butts across the finish line if we have to. We’re the cheering squad, a shoulder to cry on, an ear to vent to, and everyone’s new best friend.

Or worst enemy. However you want to put it.

When I’m not badgering everyone about their word counts, I’ll be working on my third novel. It’s a YA story set in an alternate reality where everyone’s emotions are manifested as animals outside their bodies. As your emotions change, your animal changes too.  This year, I’m focusing on world-building.

I spent a very long car ride driving from my hometown back to school thinking about how different the world would be if we couldn’t hide our emotions from anyone. Now I’m going to find out.
